Our
Mission
Friends of Tillery Park is a charitable organization formed for the sole
purpose of renovating and beautifying our city's historic Tillery Park.
We were awarded a $25,000 matching grant by Fort Worth's Parks and Community
Services Department. We must now secure the additional funds and community
support needed to construct the park's new playground. Friends of Tillery
Park is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Our
Goals
Raise $175,000 and recruit 2,000 volunteers to build a new playground
during BUILD WEEK OCTOBER 10-14, 2007.
We
exceeded our financial goals, and over 1,200 volunteers helped.
It took us a couple of extra days, but the playground opened
October 21, 2007.
What
is the Tillery Park project?
A
community-based effort to build an extraordinary public playground that
will give our children a fun, safe and creative place to play. This unique
playground will be built entirely with donated funds, materials, labor
and tools, all raised from local businesses, civic groups, families, individuals
and available grant monies. Click
